Staff Awards Breakfast
During Teacher Appreciation Week, Mrs. Wynne took time to recognize Epps Island staff members for all our successes throughout the year. It also happened to be Science Vocabulary Day, so some of the staff is in costume. Click here for a look.

TIGER READING CHALLENGE
Every class is participating in our 500-book reading challenge. Keep reading, Tigers!

Wow! Epps Island Tigers will have a kinesthetic reading lab, a whole new experience in making reading fun and effective, thanks to our grant-writing committee. Students will pedal while reading! Research indicates that such kinesthetic movement enhances brain activity. Watch our tigers soar!

We've Got Spirit!  How about YOU?
Who will get the Spirit Stick next?
2016 Health and FItness Community Day
Saturday, April 16, 2016, was an exciting day at Epps Island. Ms. Bowlen organized volunteers from schools, businesses, and the community. Everyone in attendance could register for prizes, play games, work out with zumba, complete an obstacle course, learn about community organizations, and enjoy good food and company. Click here to see some pictures of the event.

Only one student will progress to the district spelling bee and, possibly, beyond, but all our spellers were winners at the annual spelling bee.

Everyone seemed to be in the Christmas spirit. There were carolers, readers, shoppers, and wrappers. Santa's elves were busy this night!

Students got to invite their grandparents to school! They enjoyed lunch together, classroom time, and buying books at the Book Fair!

Storybook Characters galore! Oh My!  Epps Island's library looked terrific with all the decorated pumpkins based upon our favorite children's literacy characters. There were visitors reading; classrooms pairing up and reading; an exciting character parade experience and much more. Check out the link to see some of the fun.
